Easy spaghetti bologonese

Pasta- the ultimate comfort food. We make it alot at my house. Normally with Barilla plus pasta. Yummy and has extra protein.  I can throw the sauce together in 15 minutes and then it cooks for 30. I also love that my kids enjoy this meal too. Great family meal!

Easy Spaghetti Bologonese
1 14.5 ounce thin spaghetti or other pasta box of your choice cooked according to directions
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large carrot grated
1 small sweet onion grated
2 cloves garlic minced
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 pound lean group beef
1/2 cup red wine- we use Shiraz- just use whatever red wine you like
1 tablespoon fresh thyme and 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1  jar of your favorite marinara sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese

– In a large skillet add the carrots and onions to the olive oil. Add 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Cook 3 minutes or until browned. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
– Add the ground beef. Add remaining salt and peppper. Break up ground beef and cook till browned. Drain any grease.
– Add the red wine and cook 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle in the herbs and add the sauce and sugar. Let simmer at least 30 minutes. Salt to taste.
– Add the butter and parmesan cheese to the pasta and stir. Mix in all of the sauce or serve it on top of the pasta. Top with parmesan cheese. Enjoy!!
This dish serves 4-6. I always use traditional Prego in the sauce but any would work! Also you can add other veggies to the sauce.  Celery,  bell peppers or zucchini would all be great in the sauce. I hope you love it!
